On the banks of the
river Patalganga, 70 kms from Mumbai, where
landscape was barren, punctuated with stones
and brambles, from rocks and earth, Shri Dhirubhai.
H. Ambani converted the whole area covering
over 200 acres in to a modern marvel, of Industrial
Revolution at Patalganga site within a short
span of few months. Look back to a little known
trading organisation that started in 1958. It
dealt with various commodities, including nylon
and rayon.

CENTRAL LIBRARY
Library Layout
The Central Library
situated on the ground floor of Patalganga House
is a well equipped library catering to the information
needs of all employees of PG Complex. It has
over 3000 books.
Library functions
as a principal depository of information for
the use of plants and support services at Patalganga.
Library has a collection of various standards,
books and journals. Copies of patents, journal
articles etc. not available in the library can
be provided on request. Details of over 2000
articles is also available on journal database
which can be searched through keywords describing
subject matter. The library is open to all employees
from Monday to Friday 08.30 am to 05.00 p.m.
There is seating arrangements for 20, and photocopying
facility is available for library held materials.
Information Technology
Patalganga along
with other sites Hazira, Naroda & Jamnagar
are well connected by One Touch Connection between
these sites of Reliance Industries Ltd. Here
any employees of any site are able to talk to
each other, without worrying about the unreliable
STD lines.
By Implementing this
system devised by ATM, Reliance has become the
first ever ATM network in any Indian manufacturing
facility. The specialty of an ATM network is
that it provides quick access to any number,
without an STD CODE. It acts like an intercom
or a hot line. It offers faster connections
and also runs all process control and business
automation applications. Besides this the whole
of PG complex is well connected by computers
through LAN system for speedy and effective
working amongst various department , plants
or section.
All sites are well
connected with Internet, besides this here at
Patalganga, Reliance is already running a successful
intranet. It is the first of its kind in the
country. This intranet runs various applications
like the Help - desk by MIS, Telephone Directory
services over the web, Executive information
systems, documents related to ISO certification,
tutorials on Java, Ingress and a series of software
utilities.
Occupational Health
Centre (OHC)
Patalganga Complex
has a full fledged medical centre located near
to PG house which is open round the clock along
with its two first aid centre one each in the
polyester plant and LAB plant. The services
crated by this centre are Occupational Health,
Industrial Hygiene, Promotion of personal health
of the employees.
