Mrs. Nita M. Ambani (DIN 03115198) is a Commerce Graduate from the University of Mumbai, as well as a diploma holder in Early Childhood Education. She is the Founder-Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, which has improved the lives of over 12 million people through its numerous initiatives in Rural Transformation; Health; Education; Sports for Development; Disaster Response; Arts, Culture and Heritage; and Urban Renewal.
Committed to building India as a multi-sports nation, Mrs. Ambani leads the Reliance Foundation Youth Sports (RFYS) programme that was launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri. Narendra Modi, in July 2016. RFYS, a multi-city, multi-sports school and college competition, has reached out to 2 million children in 1,800 schools and colleges across eight Indian cities in its very first year. The Reliance Foundation Young Champs programme has awarded residential scholarships to 41 talented children who are receiving world-class football training, as well as quality education at Reliance Foundation schools in Mumbai. The grassroot programme to identify football talent has covered over 1.3 million children across India.
The Reliance Foundation Junior NBA programme has reached out to 3.3 million children, 45% of whom are girls, across 18 cities. In recognition of her outstanding contribution to the world of sports, Mrs. Ambani was elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee in August 2016, becoming the first Indian woman to achieve the honour.
She is the architect and a co-owner of Mumbai Indians, which won the IPL Trophy in 2013, 2015, and 2017; and the Champions League T20 title in 2011 and 2013. She is the Founder-Chairperson of Football Sports Development Limited that has revolutionised football in India by launching the Indian Super League in 2014.
Under her leadership, Reliance Foundation’s Bharat-India Jodo initiative aims to bridge the gap between rural and urban India by catalysing sustainable growth in rural areas. She successfully steered ‘Mission Rahat’ to provide relief and rehabilitation to the affected in the natural calamities that hit Uttarakhand in 2013, Jammu & Kashmir in 2014, and Chennai in 2015.
The Dhirubhai Ambani Scholarship Programme of the foundation has supported more than 11,300 scholars, 20% of whom are specially-abled, and almost 50% are girls. The ‘Education For All’ initiative, which combines the power of sport and education, has impacted the lives of over 100,000 underprivileged children.
She led one of the largest green initiatives in India – planting 3.4 million saplings over a 2,500 acre area at Reliance Industries’ Jamnagar refinery site, turning the arid landscape into a green sanctuary. She also played a leading role in developing Jamnagar into a world-class township where over 5,500 families reside. The mango orchard there comprising 138,000 trees is Asia’s largest single-location mango plantation.
Mrs. Ambani also provides leadership to 14 schools that educate 16,000 students every year. She is the Founder-Chairperson of Dhirubhai Ambani International School (DAIS). Four years in a row, Education World has ranked DAIS as India’s No. 1 International School. Hindustan Times too has adjudged DAIS as Mumbai’s No. 1 school four times in the past five years. The Times School Survey 2016 ranked DAIS the No. 1 School in Mumbai in the ‘National + International School’ category. The school has also been recognised as the No. 1 School in Academics in the country at the NDTV Education Awards. In 2016, DAIS received international accreditation from the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
Mrs. Ambani leads the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre, which provides world-class healthcare at affordable prices. It is the largest gold certified green hospital in Mumbai.
Reliance Foundation’s ‘Health for All’ initiative has provided primary medical care to about 2.5 million underprivileged people. Mrs. Ambani is on the Board of Visitors of M D Anderson Cancer Centre, and on the Advisory Board of Massachusetts General Hospital. Reliance Foundation’s Drishti initiative has gifted vision to nearly 15,000 people through corneal transplants. Its international Braille newspaper in Hindi is circulated in India and 14 other countries.
Mrs. Ambani is a Brand Ambassador of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, and leads the Foundation’s cleanliness drive across 12 states. Mrs. Ambani is committed to preserving and promoting India’s art, culture and heritage. Reliance Foundation sponsored the ‘Gates of the Lord – The tradition of Krishna Paintings’ exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago. It also partnered with The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, to showcase the works of Nasreen Mohamedi, a renowned Indian abstract artist.
In 2015, the All India Management Association presented her with the Entrepreneur of the Year award. In 2016, Business Today conferred on her India’s Most Powerful Women Award for the second consecutive year. In 2016, Forbes Asia magazine listed her among Asia’s 50 Most Powerful Business Women. In 2017, she was honoured by The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, for her philanthropic work, becoming the first South Asian to receive the honour.

Mr. Hital R. Meswani (DIN 00001623) is a Management & Technology graduate from the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) in the USA. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, UPenn, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from the Wharton Business School. He joined Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) in 1990 and is the son of Mr. Rasiklal Meswani, one of the Founder Directors of the company.
He is on the Board of the company as Whole-time Director, designated as the Executive Director, RIL, since August 4, 1995. His overall responsibility spans the Petroleum Refining and Marketing Business, Petrochemicals Manufacturing and several corporate functions of the company including Human Resources Management, Information Technology, Research & Technology and Capital Projects Execution. He has been involved with almost all mega initiatives of the group through its growth journey. He was instrumental in execution of the world class petrochemicals complex at Hazira and the mammoth Reliance Jamnagar Refinery complex, the largest in the world at any single location. He had also led a company-wide business transformation initiative, which has resulted in the development of the constitution of RIL – the Reliance Management System.
He has been awarded an Honorary Fellowship by IChemE (Institution of Chemical Engineers – the International Professional body for Chemical, Biochemical and Process Engineers) in recognition of his contribution to the process industries. He is a member of the Engineering Board of Overseers of University of Pennsylvania (UPENN) and is a recipient of the prestigious ‘The 2011 D. Robert Yarnall Award’ from The Engineering Alumni Society of the UPENN. He was conferred the Honorary CEPM-PMA Fellowship Award for Project Management Excellence. He is also a Member of Board of Management - Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research, Mumbai.
He is a member of the Finance Committee, Stakeholders’ Relationship Committee, Risk Management Committee, Human Resources, Nomination and Remuneration Committee and Chairman of the Health, Safety and Environment Committee of the Company.
