Reliance Industries entered the Composite business in 2017. This is a part of Reliance’s efforts to bring value added, new age materials to its downstream manufacturers and help them establish a leadership position for India in this large and growing market globally.
Reliance Composites Solutions (RCS) has a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility located at Vadodara (Vadodara Composite Division). Spread across 198 acres, these composites processing units consist of 3 feedstock and 7 finished goods plants.
Composites (Fibre Reinforced Polymers – FRP) have a huge market and are used in a variety of end-use applications (like wind energy, railways, aerospace and infrastructure), where the materials need to have the strength like that of steel but should be of much lower weight. The demand for such composites in India is growing at double digit especially with initiatives like Make In India and other government projects like Smart Cities.
RCS operations include design, manufacturing, commissioning and marketing market and application specific composite solutions. It offers a wide range of products – from standard shapes to the most challenging solutions, including custom fabrication and installation. More importantly, Reliance composites are made at the world’s most integrated FRP / GRP composite manufacturing facility. This would help Reliance become a single point solution provider encompassing conceptual design, prototype development, testing, manufacturing, logistics support, installation and after sales services; and ensure complete customer satisfaction.
Reliance provides these composite design-development-installation solutions to the following key market applications:
1. Shipping
2. Mass Transportation (Rail & Metro Rail)
3. Telecommunication
4. Infrastructure & Disaster Management
5. Oil & Gas
6. Power & Renewable Energy
7. Industrial & Municipal Piping
8. Electricals & Electronics
9. Automobile
